Figured Spalted Maple Burl 12.5” Chefs Knife
12.5” chefs knife with 7.5” satin finished blade. Blade width is approximately 2 3/8”. Crafted of high carbon 1095 steel and hardened to 60+ HRC this blade can easily meet your kitchen needs. The handle is made from an intricate stabilized* Figured Spalted Maple Burl. The black zone lines of the figuring work with the coffee and cream burl to form such a dramatic grain pattern. Brass/Red mosaic pins, Red G10 pins, and Green & Red G10 liners add bright pops of whimsy to this knife.
*Stabilized wood is wood that has been processed to improve its stability and durability by impregnating it with a resin or polymer. Dye is often introduced adding beautiful coloration to supplement the natural grain and patterns.
For best edge retention use with a wooden, bamboo, or plastic cutting board. (Do not use on glass, ceramic, or stone surfaces). Use a kitchen steel for daily edge maintenance. Take care of your blade and it will serve you well for life.
