Black Amboyna Burl 12.5” Santuko Style Chefs Knife
12.5” chefs knife with 7.5” satin finished blade. Blade width is approximately 2 3/8”. Crafted of high carbon 1095 steel and hardened to 60+ HRC this blade can easily meet your kitchen needs. The handle is made from a black dyed stabilized* Amboyna Burl. The black is offset throughout the grain by lighter spots of the natural color that resisted the dye. Brass, stainless and rose steel pinwheel mosaic and blue G10 pins provide a pop of additional color and detailing to the handle which is finished with blue and black G10 liners.
*Stabilized wood is wood that has been processed to improve its stability and durability by impregnating it with a resin or polymer. Dye is often introduced adding beautiful coloration to supplement the natural grain and patterns.
For best edge retention use with a wooden, bamboo, or plastic cutting board. (Do not use on glass, ceramic, or stone surfaces). Use a kitchen steel for daily edge maintenance. Take care of your blade and it will serve you well for life.
